At Wrexham yesterday we had some of our members get into a bronze medal match 🔥 and thought it was one game best to 11, only to find out after the match they should have played the best of 3 sets! It was such a shame as they could have won. So please make sure before you start a match in a competition you are clear about the parameters of the format.

I have seen it a lot at Pickle.b events . People are used to the format where you are knocked out after a few group games and go home when usually there are 3 or 4 more games to play
It was also shared with players from Pickleball Central how Steve Beale organises an inclusive tournament so even if you lose all your group games and don’t finish in the top 2 there are still more games. Some players were ready to go home after the group stages.
One of the players was injured and couldn’t continue. Therefore there was no point in playing the best of three particularly as it is the Welsh Open this week.
